This primer is MAGIC!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was repairing old plaster walls after removing wallpaper in an 1890's Victorian. After using the Bonding Primer, the walls were amazingly improved and ready for paint. We used Valspar Reserve and it looks professionally done. HUGE improvement!

Amazing results, even for a beginner like me!

Great for repainting!

I bought this for a kitchen repainting. I wanted it PERFECT! So, I bought this primer and the special Cabinet Paint. This primer is KILLER! on previously paints surfaces! Silky smooth finish, grips like mad and one coat covers completely. A work of warning is needed however. I also used it on the cabinet doors which had been strimmed to bare wood. I bought a double wide home that has paneling, I decided to make it look larger. Did not know what to do about painting paneling. Well this is IT ! I am adding before and after pictures so you can see it is possible and I did it my self, by the way I am 77 years young.

Lowes Couldn't Tint This Primer

I went to two Lowes and was told they wouldn't be able to tint it in any color. I originally wanted a Sherwin Williams color and was told no. Then I chose the closest color in Valspar and still was told no. The system did not register this primer as something that could be tinted although the can says "tintable". We purchased this primer on the recommendation of the Paint Dept Manager at our local store. We had originally bought Bullseye 1-2-3 and Kilz, this based on some reviews of the Kilz product. Excellent Bonding Primer

Glad I selected this bonding primer to paint latex over an old oil based painted surface- This bonding primer really helps the latex paint to adhere to the surface. Without the bonding primer the latex paint would peel off the old oil based paint. No stucco use

I was sold this product at my local lowes after I wanted to make sure I had no adhesion issues in some concerning spots. I started applying this to some stucco spots and I found out after I already applied this is not designed for stucco. I really hope I don't have to strip this from everywhere I applied it. It doesn't stick

I followed the instructions perfectly for my kitchen cabinets. I washed it with TSP and rinsed it as well. Allowed a full day to dry and them applied the primer, did not cover all that well but adequate. After waiting 2 days to assure it being fully dried I top coated with 2 coats of Valspar Cabinet paint. I was priming and painting unfinished cabinets. This was a product that was recommended by a representative at the Lowe's store and he was very descriptive about the product and how to use it. It works very well n binding the paint to the cabinets and after all was done I also found that they are real easy to clean without any chipping, fading or dripping.
