Tetra ClearChoice BioFilter Pond Filter

The Tetra Pond ClearChoice® BioFilter works to keep ponds clean through biological and mechanical filtration. This easy-to-use system is ideal for use as a water garden or fish pond filter. It filters coarse debris and provides biological filtration media with large surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize and remove harmful pollutants. The filter works in three stages. First, pond water is pumped into the filter and passes through mechanical pre-filter sponges that remove suspended debris to improve water clarity. In stage 2, water passes through finer foam, which provides further filtration. In stage 3, the final purification process occurs through biological filtration: Beneficial bacteria naturally colonize on the biological filtration media to convert the harmful pollutants in pond water into relatively harmless nitrates. The Tetra Pond ClearChoice BioFilter utilizes a unique Venturi system that draws air into the in-flowing water, creating ideal conditions for beneficial bacteria to decompose waste. When combined with the use of “trickle filtration,” this encourages the prolific growth of beneficial bacteria to keep your pond free of pollutants.
