Tell Manufacturing 1000 series closer is great for residential or light commercial use. This closer is a set size 1 spring tension, for easy opening for all ages. There are several installation applications and instructions included for each one. The closer comes with a cover and parallel arm bracket. These closers can come in either ivory or brown.

Would Not Recommend

It works but just buy one from Walmart for half the price, Lowes cost more on EVERYTHING it seems.

Works well on small doors BUT the threads on the rod should be extended. I couldn't get the proper loading on the spring

Weak door closer

Would Not Recommend

Not sure what all of the fuss is about with the directions. Installation was straight forward enough. Unfortunately though the spring is too weak to close even a fairly light weight door. With a little help, once the door starts moving it worked okay. I plan to return it and get a closer that has an adjustable spring for door weight. Unfortunately I now have extra holes in my door. I hope the replacement will cover the old screw holes up.

I'm pretty handy, so the poor instructions didn't present much trouble. It's also not a particularly complex product and the dimensions provided worked for me. The only slight hiccup was that initially the arm rubbed on the underside of the door jam. Not an issue, as soon as I inserted and tightened the screw to hold the arm to the mechanism, the arm comfortably cleared the jam. At $24 this is a GREAT value, and I love the fact that it has independent adjustments for closing AND latching. I...

Good product, but instructions not so good

After reading the directions several times, we ended up putting the unit upside down. The instructions are terrible. They were written for a right hand opening (from the inside) and we have a left hand opening. There is no template. We ended up correcting the unit and it works very good, finally.
