What Customers Are Saying
The electric wood chipper is generally effective at processing branches up to 1.5 inches thick, producing usable mulch. Users find it lightweight, powerful, and stable, with the electric operation being a significant advantage. However, some customers report issues with smaller twigs or leaves, and the discharge chute positioning. There have also been a few reports of the chipper binding up or shutting down unexpectedly.

I’m not sure where all the good reviews are coming from. This may chip a dry piece of bamboo but anything not straight or dry just clogs it. It’s the lamest piece of equipment I’ve ever used.
broke after two years
Works fine for little twigs but gets quickly stuck due to poor design forcing to permanently open the device to remove the stuck branches

Not up to the task
This Sun Joe chipper was used on yard brush no larger than 1" diameter. I've had it for two seasons and have used it perhaps four times. As it is made of plastic, it is not very sturdy. I'm not sure what caused it, but a hole appeared in the side at the level of the blade wheel. It is now useless and is not repairable. I will not buy another but instead will get a gas-powered unit constructed of metal.
Did not last 2 years
This unit clogs up quickly and does not truly chip the wood. The design is wrong for chipping, as the blades are set at a wrong angle for that action. The blades are not ground correctly at the factory and it takes weeks to get them flat to sharpen them. They dull very fast. If you have more than 2 large trees, do not buy this, it will not hold up. After closing it up after cleaning, the electrical system would not work; it would not turn on. Made sure the pop out breaker was pushed in.

Less than enthused given chipper's poor performanc
Since purchasing this Sun Joe CJ602E Wood chipper 3 or 4 months ago I finally had a chance to put the device to work and I must say that I am less than enthused. Following a tree trimming project and after cutting off the larger parts of the limbs for firewood I began cutting the remaining limbs (those that were the 3'-4' at the end of the branches) into pieces that wold fit into this wood chipper. This chipper does not chip the smaller branches but rather just strips the pieces into 1'-2' piece...

Such a time saver!
This tool is a godsend!. I'd been using a pruner to cut our tree branches into teeny bits to use in our garden beds. Of course it's very time consuming and hard on my fingers. I'd mentioned to my hubby we should get a wood chipper but he just says, we don't need one. Until the day he decided he would do the cutting while I gather the pruned fruit tree branches he just cut using his sun joe pole chain saw. Boy, it didn't take long before he quit and said, honey go find a wood chipper, this is to...

Needs auto shut off protection for overheating...
There is a reset button but not sure why it is even there. The machine does not shut off automatically due to overheating. The motor burns out very easily. This is the second one with the same issue. A small flat piece of wood gets wedged between the rotating disk and the disk housing and jams the rotation. Even shutting it off right away the motor burns out. The company is good about honoring the warrantee. But it has been issue both with original purchase and the replacement. When it is workin...
exceeded my expectations
Great wood chipper had a big wind storm used for 8 hours a day for 7 days no problems still working after two years.
