After reading some negative reviews, I was hesitant but so liked the idea of sliding doors I drove to Lowe's to pick up the last one in stock. Box showed no damage. Purchased and was able to carry to my car easily. So easy to put together, just attach handles and feet-5 minutes with 4 screws. My fireplace is 38X28 and it's a perfect fit. Better than expected

We are very pleased with this fireplace screen. It is exactly what we wanted. The product picture seems to show a gap between the two sliding screen doors but there is a lip on one of them so you don't need to worry about an errant spark sneaking through. Screen quality and assembly poor.

Don't buy this product. Several flaws: 1. Paint not heat resistant. Started bubbling at the top rail and peeled off. 2. One of the feet could not be fastened with both screw as of the threads was stripped. 3. The right door catches when closing 4. Cheap, Thin Metal That Came With a Hole in It

I usually only post reviews to give tips or brag on something I really like, but this is not one of those reviews. This screen was ripped out of the box. It has a hole right in the middle of it and is unusable. I had to go to 2 different stores to get this because the first store had it "in stock" on the website, but only had the display left and wouldn't sell it to me. DO NOT buy this piece of garbage. Metal is paper thin. It shouldn't come to the customer with a big hole in it.

Flat screen takes up no room - NICE!

Bought this to replace silly glass door unit that always had to be opened when our gas log unit was on. When I got a new gas log unit from Lowes, I also bought this screen. We have absolutely no complaints on this screen. The doors work well, it is flat against the fireplace so my wife can put small iron and ceramic items for decoration on the hearth, and it looks great, minimal but still with a traditional flair. Good, Not Great

This fireplace screen design is efficient because it has double doors and allows for easy access to the fire. But there is a flaw in the right door where it doesn’t slide smoothly like the left door, so I struggle with opening and closing it. Also, the screen on the left side was not installed correctly so it is bubbled. The black paint has held up so far with three fires. The stands give good balance to it. The handles are plastic and feel cheap.

NOT HEAT TOLERANT

Used this 2x and noticed a strong chemical smell filling my house while using the fireplace. As I approached the fireplace I noticed the frame of this fireplace screen was smoking and the powder coat bubbling. I had to quickly take it outside and open all of the windows. I would not recommend this for a wood burning fireplace as its cheap powder coated metal. I will be returning and looking for a better screen made of iron.

Not fire resistant. Gives off smoke.

This screen looks great and fit nicely in front of my fireplace. I love the sliding doors. But when I actually started a fire in the fireplace, this screen started smoking, perhaps due to the paint on the screen not being heat-resistant. It was filling the house with smoke (since it fits in front of the fireplace, not inside it), so I had to remove it. It seems to me that a fireplace screen that can't be close to a fire is a pretty worthless product.

Good Product, Horrible Lowes online service!

Ordered this product online instead of going to store for multiple reasons. Wrong product was shipped to me, right amount was charged to me. I contacted customer service to get correct product and was essentially told I had to go to the store. The store was confused by this and had a difficult time making things right for me. Nice fireplace screen with slight problem

Nice fireplace screen, with slight problem. One of the handle bars couldn’t be tightened as the screw fell short. I tried all of them and even switched the handle bars, the problem remained. So I came to the conclusion that the part where the screw was to be tightened was slightly warped so the screw seemed not long enough. I’ll have to see what can be done to fix this.
