It was the most affordable butcherblock on the market!
Not perfect but good enough
Butcherblock itself is nice. Package was VERY BANGED UP. Seems to have been damaged during shipping, the corners were damagedand visible dent but we can live with it. We sanded out the corners and tried to sand out the dent although it didnt really help in the end but it can be hidden. Treated surface with cutting board oil and stains appeared. Werent visible when it was installed so thats a disappointment. We tried to sand that out but it remains. All in all its beautiful despite the imperfecti...

Bad experience in kitchen
Lowe's website recommends sealing this with Howard Cutting Board Oil and Howard Butcher Block Conditioner. I used multiple coats of the oil followed by multiple coats of the conditioner. Dropping water on the countertop often caused a purple stain. Went to Sparrow's website. They basically say - Ask Lowe's. In any case, sent them a message through their website. No response. Asked Lowe's. They don't know much but guessed that the conditioner might be the problem. Sanded off the whole thing. App...

Very nice!
We used these ash countertops throughout our home remodel. I rubbed in a couple of coats of Danish oil rub in dark walnut then buffed it out. It really made the beautiful grain in this would pop. They are thick, cut and trim well and are simply stunning installed with our Hickory Cabinets. They are performing well in our kitchen. In our kitchen they are fairly cut and scratch resistant and bead water well. I’d buy them all over in a second.

This product looks great. I’m very pleased with the outcome. Just be aware that it is thick and extremely heavy. It also takes some really good blades to cut rounded sink corners because of hardness. I highly recommend it.
