Good looking Redbuds!
These trees looked VERY healthy and hearty. I hope they do well in the Spring and Summer next year. I have had some trouble with new Redbuds living through their first year.
Tree is beautiful
I was amazed at how full and beautiful the is. Packaged well and safe.
Stressed Trees Hardly Survive
We ordered two eastern redbuds, both came in stressed. We tried to help them recover, thankfully one did. I planted both, one in the front of our house and one in the back. Both had the same amount of direct light and water over the past 3 weeks. While the tree in the front recovered and is thriving, the tree in the back passed away rather quickly. I don't hold it against Lowe's, it's hard to ship live plants. But I am rather disappointed that only one of the two survived.
Not as pictured
Basically a stick with a couple leaves on top
Skinny Tree Not As Pictured
This is kind of Charlie Brown tree. Not remotely as pictured. Just a single thin stick with no branches. Also, when I removed it from the 5 gallon pot the root/soil mass was in the perfect shape of a MUCH smaller pot, maybe 2qt? It seemed like they put it in the larger pot the week before. The tree is tall enough for the larger pot, but it is laughable skinny. Otherwise healthy.
Redbuds with Dead buds
I bought two eastern redbud trees. First off I thought they would be locally grown and not from Tennessee. One the tress was too large for the shipping box so it as curled around and around fit into the box. The second one is half dead and never should have been sent. None of the terminal buds on the top half were fresh or moist. They were hard with no signs of opening and essentially are dead. Whereas the bottom half the tree was budding and had opening leaves. The nursery should have ...
Date range, Please!
On the website Lowes said the trees would be delivered on April 9th. I ordered on April 1st. April 9th was perfect since I am away until April 8th. The transport company now tells me they will be delivered on April 4th. I tried to delay but no luck. Let's hope they are 1. Not stolen or 2. Still alive when I get back. I don't have a good feeling about this. It is not like I can ask my 70 year old neighbor that is going through cancer treatments to move the 5 gallon trees to a safe locat...
Beware full warranty online trees
After 6 months tree was a dead limb. Took back to Lowes and since I ordered on line and not at store they would not honor 1yr warranty on tree. Also root system was almost non existent after digging back up.
Damaged on delivery
I ordered 2 trees. One came damaged because of packaging. Competitors secure a tree inside the box with a cable tie which keeps the tree from sliding around. I asked for a replacement and returned the tree to the store but have not received a replacement yet. BEEN 2 WEEKS.
