This surge protector is mounted via 3/4" knock-out to a surface-mounted breaker panel. It now comes with a lockring, though I swapped it for one from a southwire 3/4 "Nylon Liquid-Tight Fitting Type-B" which also had an o-ring. I had to use my knipex pliers to tighten said ring, as a flathead just wouldn't cut it. There are 5 wires. Well, technically 9, as the bigger black one with the white label on it actually houses 5 little ones for setting up an alarm system. I wouldn't know how to do that...

Whole House Surge Protector

I bought this since it had 140-kA or 140,000 amp protection. Designed to go into a Load Center knockout hole. I mounted mine vertically on the very top of the unit since beams were in the way. Two black wires, one white and one green/yellow ground. The two black wires connect to a tandem 20 amp breaker, that is, one black wire per each breaker. You want this tandem breaker to ensure you connect to both the A&B sides of the Load Center and will have both tripping together if something goes w...
