I paid $6 extra for this because of the Scotts name and the pet paw friendly claim. First off, they will burn a small hole in the snow but will not spread any at all outside of that. This is the worst ice/snow melt I have EVER used (and I live in North Dakota) Secondly, I had to get a broom and a shovel out and scrape every last bit of the it off the sidewalk because even two days later my poor dog was yelping after walking on the stuff. Mixed emotions & I am on my 3rd Container
I have gone thru 2 containers of this and just opened the 3rd two days ago. I have been super happy up until now (which is why I gave 3 stars) as it appears that this ice melt has ruined our driveway, leaving a very large stain resembling oil. Directions were followed with all 3 containers....I am so upset by what has happened.

Works wonders
I bought this stuff because it says its safe for pets. I used it in our back steps during the recent big snow storm in seattle. Works great and it kept on working while it was snowing. My dog walked over it and it didnt bother him or make him sick. We did wipe his paws after he came back in the house. I would recommend it to anyone who has pets and wants to keep them safe.
