Worked just fine. In the box were the frame, a single gang box, the outlet plug, and the outlet cover. The right side brush thing was already installed. The single gang box attaches to the frame, just like it would if you were putting it into a hole in the wall. The tabs that suck in and hold it against the sheetrock are metal. Same with the tabs on the single gang box. It took me about 30 minutes start to finish. I fished some 12/3 romex down from this big hole to the existing outlet below. The...

This outlet does the job just fine. However, I wish the border were bigger. We were replacing an old outlet which was butted right up to the stud (which is normal). Because the recessed outlet “slants to the left, it hit the stud and had to be moved to the right in order to fit. The end result was that we were left with an open gap alongside the left edge of the new outlet. A bigger border would have covered the opening.
