Misleading - no battery
Before purchasing this device, read the reviews, read the specifications/manual/details etc and no where did it state we needed a battery nor what kind of battery. Very misleading and we are returning it. The description states “ DIGITAL BRUSHLESS MOTOR—Delivers high-performance power with up to 12,000 OPM for fast removal”, which makes you assume it will work without a battery. Wrong. Price gouging on Skil shipping. $79
It came from Lowe’s. The I dislike that it came from Lowe’s. All Skil tools online have a $79 shipping fee. Seriously a drill battery and chargers weigh about 3-4 lbs. so $79 is absolutely gouging! It also says the a lot of the tools I wanted are unavailable in store. So I saw the exact item I wanted online was marked over msrp. You need to fix this!!!

I'd been looking at this awhile but didn't need to pay for another battery and charger. Being on sale as tool only, I snatched one up. It was just what I was hoping for. Like many, I already have a powerful name brand cordless orbital sander. What I needed was a smaller and lighter sander that can get into corners and allow me greater control on smaller projects.
