Barely used

I purchased this on 5/21 took it off the truck after putting the boat in the water once and took it off the truck. Tried to use it to put a new hitch on the truck on 6/22 and I cannot get it apart despite it being unlocked. This is a terrible product. Going to see if I can get my money back.

Very suscepible to corrosion

I've owned this for about ten months and it worked great for the most part. I typically leave a receiver hitch or cargo carrier on my vehicle, and this has been installed the entire time. A month ago I took my cargo carrier off and had a really hard time releasing the lock. Today I tried cleaning it up a bit, and it was FULL of rust and corrosion. I sprayed it full of WD40 and cleaned the inside of the lock multiple times, but it's still difficult to actuate. It's a major design flaw to not use ...

Trash

I bought two of these, one for the rear hitch and one for the front. Both rusted quickly. Also, neither would come off via the key, they simply wouldn't pull apart no matter what I did. I took a small weighted hammer to them (hitting them near the end of the locking mechanism) and they break off in half in about 4 hits, right where that thin part is. Even easier to do if you put a pair of vise grips to keep it from sliding.

It's awesome

I love the fact that I can use either pin and the lock still works. I need another set for the other van.

Some difficulty

Difficult to get on and off when using with a hitch basket. Not a lot of space.

Pin flaw allowed theft or complete locking failure

These pin locks are horrible, my hitch was either stolen or completely fell off do to design flaw. There’s a YouTube video of would be thieves using a pipe for leverage to snap off the head in mere seconds. Reese should replace my black nickle 3 way hitch.
