Improved post home digger
I like the articulation of this post hold digger; it makes it a lot easier to dig deeper compared to straight shaft phd. The handle stops are a big improvement so knuckles don't get busted and the weight of this unit really helps cut through roots etc. However, the weight does take more energy to move and use which is not ideal. Overall, a big improvement over other phd.
Well built Post Hole Digger
This is a very well built post hole digger, or at least it appears to be...we will see over time. It is heavy duty...good and bad (its not lite to walk around with), but its not going to snap a handle when you some solid clay like here in TX. The "shovel" part of it is pointed and not your typical rounded spade, so its a big help in getting that 'entrance' into the soil. The closing mechanisms are 'mechanical' and are like two phased to close it out. I believe this is helpful in that over lon...
Never seen anything like these
These post hole diggers are different than any I have ever used before. I had to use wrench to loosen up some bolts to make operation smooth, but once I did they worked very well. They dig quick and have long jaws. They are heavy enough they bite into ground quick and in no time I had hole dug. Each time I pulled them up a lot of dirt came with it making digging fast.
Solidly constructed tool.
This heavy duty posthole digger will last for years, it is solidly constructed. Very heavy and a bit stiff to start off, but it cut right through heavy clay. The handles are easy to grip even without gloves and the weight of the tool helps to dig deep. It's impossible to smack your knuckles because of the stoppers attached to the handles. No blisters even after using it without gloves because of the coating on the handles. I was worried about the weight of tool, but I got used to it pretty quick...
Heavy in a good way, sturdy and works well
This is a very sturdy and heavy post hole digger. The handles make it easy to lift it up out of the hole and keep your hands from sliding off. It is a little stiff at first, adding a drop of oil to the pivot bolts definitely helps and as I used it it definitely loosened up and got better. My soil was very dry and this had a little issue pulling dirt up out of the hole, but the area I was digging in had lots of old roots and the heft if this tool helped cut through them easily.
Great post hole diggers
These are really nice post hole diggers. No slop in the handles. They have a good ergonomic grip. The pointed shovel end makes it much easier to get into the ground. The only negative that i have found is they are stiffer than most in regard to closing the shovels to pick up dirt, but im sure with use they will break in nicely.
tough rugged Post hole digger!
I was looking for a Post hole digger that was a bit more robust than the old style with wooden handles. I finally found it in the Razorback PHD! this thing is an absolute beast and a lot heavier than the cheap old style PHD's. the weight of this tool actually helps when shoving it back down in to capture more dirt as it allows you to get a full shovel full to pull out. the handles are fiberglass and fit my hands perfectly. the ergonomics of the handles make the shovel head close easier and with ...
