red cap, and blade clamp issues
after much research, i decided to give this tool a try...I really wanted to love this tool but, repeatedly, the blade clamp comes loose during operation... this seems to be a VERY dangerous thing to happen while in use... also, now the red cap near the blade clamp keeps popping off during operation... not good! and keep in mind, I have only used it maybe 10 times total since original purchase...I will be returning

I was borrowing my son's F30 that he had used a lot and highly recommended the brand. I was looking into other types but while in a store the F65 was on a huge sale, so I bought it. It works better than the F30 with more oscillation for fast cuts. The light was ok but had room for improvement. My big issue was 3 different times it just cut out and died. I'd cycle the on/off switch and the speed adjustment and it would begin working again. I returned it for an exchange but the store was out s...

burned up didn't even finish project
New blade and correctly installed. Out of the box. No nails. Cutting linoleum and mdf underlayment. Looks good feels good but obviously not built tough enough.

First Use resulted in sparks/smoke
It was cutting wood baseboard just fine until sparks and smoke. It spit out charred plastic bits. I unplugged it and tried it a few mins later, but the motor seemed to be internally obstructed. Heading back to the store to replace.

I shopped around a bit for an oscillating tool. I originally was thinking Bosch, didn't care that it was more...but availability and proprietary, more expensive blades became the deal breaker. This Rockwell looked like the best option to me. I had a TON of floor material that had to come up and sanding was not an option. This tool did not disappoint. Disappointing - Going back to Dewalt
I bought this product mainly because my Lowes do not stock the DeWALT corded oscillating cutter any longer and I needed one right away. For starters the blade clamping arrangement is cumbersome. It is basically a screw clamp with a handle, and is finnicky. Compared to some of the others (including DeWALT) which have squeeze clamp design, the Rockwell is very outdated. Substandard product
I only used this a couple of times. The red caps fell off of the blade lock mechanism. The motor gets so hot after a short use I can barely hold it. Let's see if Rockwell honors their warranty.
