Failed on my home irrigation system after only 3 years. The union nut cracked in two pieces. Looking elsewhere for a replacement.
Good heavier duty valve
Used to replace a cheaper valve for a solar pool heater outflow pipe. Fitment was spot on and the heavy duty valve handle works easily. I expect this to last much longer and work better than the original fitting. Working well over a week since install.

Poor Design
The way this valve is designed, it can not hold water once the union is disconnected. When the valve is closed and the union is disconected, the ball slides out of the valve and allows all of the water to flow out as if it wasnt there to begin with. The only thing holding the ball in place is the female union coupling, once that is disconnected, the ball slides out of the valve. This defeats the purpose of a union ball valve.
This is smaller than similar valves
It is easy to handle the weight, not too bulky
Economically better than a pool store
A more affordable pool shutoff valve at half the cost of pool supply stores . Allows for a permanent installation with gluing too.
Poor Design
I purchased two of these to install on my pool in order to make maintenance on the filter and pump easier. I installed this product and when the valve is in the off position and the union is disconnected the ball in the valve is able to be removed and with the low water pressure of the from the pool water on the ball it pops right now. The ball just slides onto the handle when the handle is in the closed position. This should happen in the open position. Because of this flaw this part is useless...
