This product will not repair cracks. To repair cracks and keep the finish smooth, one must widen the crack to accept the repair compound to keep it smooth. Widening the crack will expose the underlaying structure as well as discolor it somewhat, which results in a darker repair area. This product, while filling the damaged area, does not contain sufficient pigment to cover the darker structure, allowing the darker color to show through.
