Morton 50-lb Water Softener Salt Block

There is nothing wrong with the product as it comes from the manufacturer. However it is getting increasingly difficult to find even one block on the pallet that hasn't at some point in time been wet. The moisture deteriorates the block itself where portions of the blocks are washed away. Even those in better condition have the outer cardboard casing glued to the block from the moisture! It is difficult to scrape all the cardboard that is pasted to the block before placing it in my water softene...

Quality OK, packaging not too good.

Block salt recommended for my water softener. The quality of Morton 50# salt is good but the packaging is not good. In most of my purchases at Lowes I find the outside cardboard covering has gotten wet and this causes it to stick to the sides of the block making a mess in both trying to unwrap the salt for use and ability to clean it up sufficiently to not make a mess in the softener. Recommend some type of paraffin coat on the inside of the cardboard to help removal and not have cardboard stuck...

Best salt block around

The block salt is much better than tablets for the water Softner. The blocks are much cleaner! Only problem is the weight and difficulty getting into the tank without dropping them. This is only salt block that I would use for my water system. I can't go without this salt, I wish you carried the item in more of your stores. Have purchased this item at other competitor stores but keep coming back to Lowes for the best price and availability

Salt block for softner.

Seems to work. Drawbacks, water brine tank gets dirtier, but since this water never comes in to house (I think), no big deal. Great solution when bags of salt unavailable. Much cheaper, but I would not recommend, only to save money.

Works best in our system

I have been using Lowe's Morton White Crystal Salt since 2014. Our family residence has a Rain Soft system & the product done the jog superbly. Plus, Lowe's has it at the lowest price. We are very pleased with Morton salt. A+++++

Cardboard sleeve means no sticky label

Salt block is in a cardboard sleeve which means no sticky label to peel off. I use these in my water softener and fo not like the idea of glue residue in my drinking water.

Happier to see that the salt blocks were not soaked with water, but it still looks these are stored outside. When removing the paper package it still tears leaving small pieces of paper that have to be manually removed

I have been using the block salt for a long time, only negative is when it get wet before you buy it and it's impossible to get cardboard off without washing the salt off with a hose. ( getting salt where u don't want it and can't use it.)

Great for water softeners

I use Morton Brine Block in my water softener since I trust Morton and the pellets have a tendency to form a salt bridge which I have to break to get the brine working again. I never have that problem with the brine blocks.

I didn't buy this!

For some reason, MyLowes thinks I bought this product. But I've never even seen this in my local Lowes. I have to assume something went wrong in their database. Hopefully, this "review" gets their attention.
