Moen: Proprietary tools needed to function
I once loved Moen. I purchased this garbage disposal and was glad to have selected a 3/4 horse powered unit. I'm sure it works great if using it on a regular basis; however, installing it in a second house was not a good idea as it isn't used enough, so it got stuck. Unlike the design used for the past 50 years, this one doesn't have the option to simply insert an allen wrench under the unit to get it moving again. I've done that for several of my neighbors over the years. Moen obviously realize...

Functional and safe
I like that it can’t be turned on by accident without inserting the black plug into the drain. It works well and is definitely more quiet than most disposals. Also I am very happy with the 10 year warranty.

Great purchase
I bought this garbage disposal last week. So far it is doing really good. It is much quieter than my last one and not nearly as big. It doesn't take up as much room under my sink. My husband installed with a little of my help. He couldn't hold it up and put the ring on at the same time but it did go in pretty quickly. So far, it has devoured everything I have put in it. It is a little tricky at first to get the feeder locked in but after a few times it's no problem. I really like this o...

Quick Installation
I bought this to replace a leaky InSinkErator that lasted 12 years. The sink already had a Universal connector so I didn't install the new Moen connector and that saved me a lot of time on installation. Perfect fit. Connected existing drain and dishwasher hose and it was done. It's like this was the exact copy of what I had. It's also quieter than the old disposal. Thanks Moen for making my project hassle free.

Not working
Bought this in June but just installed last night after we had countertops and sink on our new construction installed. Went to hook it up and nothing. No sound at all. We can’t figure it out. Electric is working fine.
