Strong, capable, well-built and even pretty
I decided to trust the name Moen this time rather than the other, more common brand, which our contractor installed in our new house; it was only 1/3 hp and, although we are careful mid-range type users, it struggled to handle the use. This 1 hp Moen is probably overkill for our needs, but with the 10 year warranty and conscientious use, should operate without the issues we had before and for many more years. I don’t know that we will actually try the chicken bones, avocado pits, or corncobs it ...

This Moen 1 HP Chef is a game changer! Quiet and Strong. It seems to be very well built, with lots of visible stainless steel on the inside. I compared to some others, and it seems to compare equally to units costing 50% more. It has so far chewed up leftover macaroni, stew, potato and cucumber peels without ever clogging the drain.
