Minwax One Step Water-based Tint Base Semi-transparent Satin Tintable Interior Stain ( 1-quart )

One step and it shows

I used this and it stains but you lose control of how much it penetrates. After using it I could tell I still need to apply poly so this didn’t end up doing what I needed. Next time I’ll get the regular stuff - pre stain, wood stain, poly. More work but better outcome. This product would be good for a landlord special :-(

This product should not be a called a stain. It does not penetrate It covers up like a paint.. Very disappointing. Will never buy it again

Easy to use

The coverage and color amazing. Adheres to multiple surfaces. I used multiple layers to achieve the color I wanted. You definitely need multiple layers to achieve even coloring. Very easy cleanup. This is definitely my new go to for staining.

Rich and easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this stain by minwax. Given that it is a stain and topcoat in one, it saves me time and money. Just doing the one layer already left a beautiful rich stain on the piece I was working on. It is also fast drying so if you want that second coat you do not have to wait long to do so. Being water based, the clean up is also nice and easy.

One step is all it takes!

So easy to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Minwax One Step was so easy to use. Upon opening the stain, there was minimal odor. Even during the use, I noticed it wasn’t as strong as other products I’ve used. You should always use protective gear when using though. I used 2 coats on these coasters. No sanding needed as they were pre sanded. I appreciate that I don’t have to add an additional top coat to these. They are smooth and the color is beautiful!

Very easy to use and great color

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product came properly packaged and secured and the liquid was ready to use . I didn’t have to mix a lot as it was in great condition. The package recommends to use a brush but I was able to use it smoothly with a roller for my project. The color is very nice and it builds darker with more coats . I used two coats on this bare wood , and achieved the color I was looking for. The cleanup was a breeze with soap and water and I will be able to ...
