Works Great on my Small Projects
I see a number of negative reviews due to brush strokes. I started using this Minwax product to replace an expensive varnish I was buying at the craft store. It works great on my small products (miniature surfboards) and I don't have a problem with brush strokes at all. Granted, I try not to mess with it too much and only brush it 2 or 3 times. Additionally, other varnishes would often crackle because I apply this on top of Mod Podge. This one doesn't crackle, goes on real thick for a one time ...

Failure with gel stain. Fragile finish
Spent hours, hand sanding , filling, prepping, staining. Using only this brand. It has failed at every turn. Have a dog... scratches so easily. Heaven forbid if the have an accident, turned area into a dust collecting mess, even with quick clean up. Need to touch up base boards? Even the good paint tape will pull off sporadically. Mite work on NO contact surface. But has failed even low contact areas. We used with the gel based minwax stain, AVOID.

It goes on easy. Semigloss gives me the look I like. Easy clean up. Lowe's is discontinuing carrying it.
