very flimsy design
The plastic plate is very weak and flexible, prone to warping—don't expect it to be able to support the weight of your router over the edge of a piece, which therefore means this is *NOT* an effective tool for squaring edges. Mine broke after a few uses: I hit a hard spot in my piece, the router kicked lightly, and the plastic snapped. Completely defeats the purpose: not safe! Giving it 2 stars because the handles are comfortable. I'm saving them so I can build my own router base.
Some assembly required.
Ok, this is a two-piece base. No where in the instructions does it say that. It took me a half hour of puzzling over this thing until I figured it out. From then on it went smooth until it came time to insert a chamfer bit. The hole through which it inserts was too small. There is a smaller opening, and then a line around that for a larger opening. I had to mount a router bit in my drill press (never a good idea) and clean the opening out to the second circle. Then everything worked. So yes...

works well
This was obviously a return as it was partly put together. Everything was there and after going through the directions (If you want to call them that) I can understand why it was returned. After figuring it out it is what it says it is and works well.

Perfect for small trim routers
Needed one to increase stability and do free hand routing. Milescraft is always well priced and with good quality. This is another good buy for me.
