The Midea 6,000 BTU energy star certified window air conditioner is perfect for cooling spaces up to 250 sq. Ft. This unit offers 3-in-1 comfort, allowing you to cool, dehumidify, or ventilate air in spaces up to 250 sq. Ft. A clear LED display on the front panel (as well as the remote control) provides access to the following modes: timer mode, energy saver mode, and sleep mode. Unique proximity sensing mode adjusts cooling temperature based on the distance between the unit and the remote control! This window unit installs easily without modification to the existing window frame. All mounting accessories are included. A screwdriver is required for installation. For some window frames, pilot holes are recommended. Please note that this unit cannot be installed on a sliding window. Please see included instruction manual for further detail. Midea stands behind our product with a one-year parts and labor warranty.

The air conditioner was easy to install. I'm a senior female, and it took me 1 hour to install. It is not too loud, cools really well and quickly with great features. I am very satisfied with my purchase. For instillation you may want to purchase self driving metal screws if you have metal framed windows.

There is no aaaah moment!

Would Not Recommend

installed in December, so really didn't get a chance to see its peak performance until May. It does not cool I placed it in a 250 ft² room just the perimeter of the air conditioner seems to be cool. it's set at 74 and shuts off (eco mode) but doing an ambient temperature check its actually 78. which means if I put it on cool mode, before it gets to the desired temp of 74 or 72, the AC unit is blowing for hours. better off with a LG unit.

Doesn't cool the room

I purchased a Midea 250-sq ft window unit and had it installed last week. The unit does not blow out cool air, more like luke warm. No matter how long it runs, it never distrubute cool air or cools the space.

Doesn't fit into basic aluminum windows

This is the 2nd Midea AC I have purchased because I like the U-shaped one I got so much. Midea is clearly one of the best, perhaps even the best, window AC unit manufacturers out there in terms of build quality, efficiency, and powerful cooling so I rate those things a 5. My lower rating of 3 is because I was very unpleasantly surprised to discover this particular unit does not fit correctly into my very basic aluminum frame windows that I'd say 90+% of typical homes were built with here in Texa...
