What Customers Are Saying
The evaporative cooler provides effective cooling performance and efficiency, able to cool large spaces even in hot climates. Users appreciate the low operating costs and reduced utility bills compared to traditional air conditioning. However, the installation process can be challenging, with difficulties aligning and securing the back panel. Some customers also experienced issues with the control panel and remote not functioning properly. Ongoing maintenance, such as regularly cleaning the water distribution system and pads, is required to prevent mineral buildup and ensure optimal performance.

First day using the 4500. Runs fine. BUT. If you live in Vegas etc don't be fooled, it will not cool a 1600 square foot house. Possibly half of that on the hottest days like today, {maybe) 115 degrees. Our house is 1100 square feet. It"s installed in the main bedroom. The other doors are all closed. So it's blowing out straight down the hallway to the kitchen window. The hvac thermostat is in the hallway. It's been reading 83 all day. My advice get the 5900 for this climate. I gave it 4 stars ...
Nothing but problems
I purchased this on Father’s Day went and picked it up put it in nothing but problems it leaked now it is August 18 and the pump doesn’t work For the price I paid this thing should still be working. Don’t buy beware trash should’ve stuck with the Bonaire like I had before.
Not working after 35 days installed
only 35 day last the motor working, I try to return it to Lowe's. and I found out that they only give 48 HOUR to return, so Basically I spent 660 dollar, so now I have to deal with the manufacturer warranty

Works well, not obnoxiously expensive
Works well. I have a 1000 sq ft home, bought the 1600 sq ft model. Easy to install, keeps my home around 75 degrees when it's mid 90s. Not loud, cools well with just the pump running and a breeze blowing. I dont have to drop an ice block in it to keep the reservoir cool.

Had one before, I do not recommend this one.
Had one of these prior for 8 years. Putting the back pad cover on is almost impossible to get the water pump hose lined up to the back fixture. I figured they would have fixed that issue by now, but nope. I had to cut out a piece of plastic to get needle nose plyers in and attach the pump hose to the back pad unit. UUGH. Also, this unit DOES NOT come with an interior plastic cover, so thankfully I was able to use my old one, so I don't get cold or hot air blowing into my room when the unit is...

Works great, but requires maintenance
I purchased this evaporative cooler towards the end of 2019 just out of curiosity. I have lived in a hot, dry area for thirty years, yet I never even considered using a "swamp" cooler. Always struggling with the heat, then only using AC as a last resort and complaining about the electric bill afterwards. Since having used this Mastercool evaporative cooler I must say that I am quite impressed with what they can do and feel like an idiot for not having purchased one sooner. Installation went fin...

A virtual nightmare (but it cools as it should)
The back needs to be removed and replaced regularly to deal with hard water scale eliminator and odor control tables. It takes 2 people to remove and replace the back. Sometimes words just might be spoken that are best to not to use in polite company. It is very frustrating to say the least. The water line from the pump to tank for the pads the needs to be connected while they are separated and there is very little room to get one hand in between the main body and the back to accomplish tha...

Good cooler, cheap parts, helps to be handy.
I've had this cooler for about a month, and after proper set up it works very well. It keeps my 1200 sqft house 20-25 degrees cooler than the outside. I put it in a second story window, and I would not have been able to install the unit with another person helping me. Once the unit was in the window, I was able to level it, secure it to the house, and get the water line setup by myself. I secured it inside with the included brackets to the windowsill. I also used a 2x4 between the windowsill a...

Works well . . . when it works
PROS: The rigid media used in this cooler is far superior to the aspen pads used in many other coolers. They provide a consistent performance and are easier to maintain. I have a Mastercool whole house unit on my house in Las Vegas and only use my AC when humidity gets too high (a couple weeks a year). The all plastic case is also a nice feature, as metal cabinets will invariably rust/corrode. The unit produces a temperature drop of 20-25 degrees in my conditions (5-20% humidity) Remote cont...

Works well, cheap to operate, 2 much maintenance!
I've owned this unit for 4 years now. Let me tell you the good and bad: Good: Cheap to operate as far as electeicity and water costs, works very well at cooling smaller homes (mine is 1068 sqft) It is fairly quiet on the low setting. Bad: Media pads are too expensive at $125.00 a pop and they need to be changed every year, unless your water isn't too hard. The reservoir fills with mold so it needs to be cleaned out once a week AT LEAST. So, be prepared to be constantly checking th...
