Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
This door lock installation kit is generally useful for DIY projects, with an adjustable design that works on doors of different thicknesses. The kit helps simplify the process of drilling holes for locks and deadbolts, especially on new doors without pre-drilled holes. However, the plastic components may not be durable enough for frequent or heavy-duty use, and users recommend only using the kit to start the holes and then finishing the drilling freehand. Overall, it's a good option for occasional DIY lock installations, but may not be suitable for professional-level or repeated use.

I purchased this a couple of days ago and it worked flawlessly. I had previously purchased a different manufacturer's version of this tool which was only rated for wood doors. It didn't survive a single door. This one is well made and I really like the way it clamps and doesn't move at all. As with all the Lenox tools I've owned, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or puchase them again.
works
arbor hole is small
Spend the few extra dollars
Intuitive design. I was able to quickly reconfigure the hole settings for my specific need.
good quality holes saws
it really works well
I found it to work great. Holes aligned perfectly. Just need to be sure and hold your drill straight and square so as not to get into the plastic guides too bad. I did 8 doors with minimal damage to the guides. Could do a bunch more. I highly recommend it to anyone. Well worth the price.
Plastic
I thought this would save me time. However, there is too much plastic. Over time the plastic gets destroyed. Also, If you have to drill a large hole on top of an existing one (some old lock sets are smaller)... it does not hold it enough to use without chewing up the jig. Honestly $40 dollars thrown away. I just mad a jig out of spare plywood (just align to edge of the door), clamp to door where you need it... have a sacrifice board on the other side, and drill your hole. You can find videos on...
