Needs more thought
I bought this vise a day ago, returning it already. The vise is built reasonably will but needs more thought in regard to features. The jaws are smooth, no knurls to make them grip. Also below the jaws is a rod or pipe clamp that should have been designed as a bypass so it would hold smaller diameters. Needed to grip 3/8" all thread and it wouldn't grip it. It would be a handy little vise with a few minor changes.

Good portable vise
The vise works as expected. It is easy to mount to a table and holds object tightly. It is good for small project. The price is reasonable.

not that good
very very light duty the vise jaws are so smooth it will hardly hold anything, you will need some kind of rubber/ non slip covers for the jaws if you only need it for very light duty (jewelery) or to use as a helping hand it will be ok
Useability
The clamp to hold on to the bench is only 1 - 3/4 inches wide. My bench is 2- 1/2 inches. The anvil on the back is only 1.5" by 1".
Irwin vice
Clamps on nicely and works pretty much like I expected. Obviously not as strong/capable as a bolt-on version, but that wouldn't fit as don't have a suitable bench in my basement. Works well!
