Remember to pre-drill
Worked as expected. However, these screws do not eliminate the possibility of splitting, especially if you are screwing against the grain in parts 1in thick or less. With hardwoods, it is always best to pre drill. First I loosely assemble the materials using the Kreg screw to create a pilot. Then I pre-drill to the desire depth using drill bit. Then I complete the assembly using the Kreg screw.
