Good compress, but...

I ordered this online to pick up at a store that was about 15 minutes away from me. All other closer store were out of stock. The pick-up experience was unusually horrible (I've never had a problem at lows until now), no one knew where the compressor was located, I stood there for 45 minutes waiting. This is not why I am giving it 4 stars. The reason I am giving this 4 stars is because when I unload and unbox the compressor, it WAS NOT FULL OF OIL. I paid for delivery. Arrived on time, delivered into garage. I was replacing a 29 year old Craftsman oil free that is still working fine. I want to be able to use HVLP spray gun and not take all afternoon blowing out my sprinkler system amount other things. I got so tired of waiting on my old Kobalt single stage 30 gal compressor to catch up so I could finish my projects. I knew I needed a bigger (not oversized) compressor. Good Compressor but....

I had to dock as star for one reason so far...I went to pick it up and didn't want to put it in my truck bed since I don't own a fork lift. I would have never gotten it out, so I brought a trailer. We went to lay it on the trailer and oil poured out of the breather. I can't really figure out who in their right mind would fill this thing with oil and ship it that way. DOA...and slow warranty service

My old compressor died, so bought one of these. Got it moved into the shop and installed on Saturday, wired Sunday afternoon, expecting no downtime on Monday. But the motor was dead on arrival--I had 240 volts all the way to the end plate of the motor but no rotation. Called Lowes on Monday...who referred me to Campbell Hausfeld in KY...who referred me to their local servicing agency about an hour away from me. Don't waste your money on this unit. I purchased 2 years ago. I maybe have 50 hours on the unit. The motor stopped working with tripping my circuit breaker. I replaced the circuit breaker thinking it was failing and even tried a larger amperage breaker - still the same issue. I looked up the warranty. Motor is covered only 1 year. Seems to work well. No surprises.

It took about a month to finally show up. It seems strange to me there were several listed in-stock at a store less than 60 miles away. But, they can't do a store to store transfer. So, I had to wait over a month for the compressor to come from wherever they are shipped from. . The quality of the compressor is up to par at this time. AWESOME QUALITY/VALUE UNIT & PRICE FOR TOTAL PKG!!

This is "ABSOLUTELY" the #1 very BEST compressor I found for my price range of around $500. It's a Kobalt unit made by Campbell Hausfeld, assembled here in the U.S. And NO, it doesn't have a 5 hp motor or a 80 gal tank so it's not fair to review/compare it to a $1500+ one or to buy this unit expecting it to operate as a unit 3x the price. This IS however, a true 2-stage unit with a 3.7 hp (nearly a 4 hp) motor for less than half the price of ANY other 60 gal 2-stage unit/s. Bottom line, it is...
