This chainsaw is for cutting through medium sized branches and limbs. The recommended oil included does exactly what it should do and lubricates the device. The grip on the body of the device helps improve stability when it is used. With the 2 24 volt batteries, if you use the ultimate output ones, you can run this long enough to cut what you needed.

Exceeded Expectations

It was way more powerful than I expected! I used it to take down a decent sized tree and it went great! It comes with 2 batteries that must be used at the same time. The runtime was also impressive. It helped to have extra 24V batteries from other Kobalt tools. Because of the batteries, it has about the same weight as a regular chainsaw. Look, you're not going to take down a redwood with this thing, but if you have small trees and/or trimming to do, I would highly recommend.

Great cutting speed but batteries die quickly.

I bought this last month to clear some downed trees on a property. I sawed through 12” pines in about 1-2 minutes each. So amazed. Now you do have to charge BOTH batteries as it uses / at the same time so it doesn’t come with back up batteries. They have a gauge on them to show you the charge, but once they’re dead you have to wait hours to charge again. I probably used it for 10-15 minutes and the batteries were dead.

Great for small to moderate jobs

Originally we had bought another popular brand saw that we ended up having to return and exchanged for this saw, the Kobalt 14”. The previous saw leaked oil and went through the oil too quickly but this saw has not leaked and I do not burn through near the amount of oil that I did on the other brand! Smoking and Burning out quickly

I have owned many chainsaws over the years, all of them have been gas engines. I wanted to try the battery operated version as I didn’t a great deal of strength, just something to cut down a variety of branches and different wood articles. Does the job

Was mildly surprised that this cut down a 24" diameter tree. Really did the trick to piece down the tree. The batteries died after a little while, but charged up half way in 20 minutes and allowed me to finish the job. Would recommend getting extra batteries if you have to do alot of work in 1 day.
