What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this sink strainer for straightforward installation, solid stainless steel construction, and reliable performance. Most highlight how intuitive the setup is, though plumber's putty is needed separately. Reviewers consistently commend the durable brass nut and robust build, noting significant upgrades over plastic or corroded originals. The deep basket seals tightly, prevents leaks when properly installed, and fits various sink types including older or non-standard materials. A few mention minor concerns about stopper durability or installation clarity, but these are vastly outweighed by strong satisfaction across the board.

Universal fit regardless of the thickness of the material the sink is made from. This is an old school design. The pressure bowl pushes up on the bottom of the sink to compress the fitting. The benefit of this design over the newer (cheaper) large compression ring is that the strainer does not twist in the sink as you are applying compression with the lock nut. This is clearly a superior design from the installers point of view. This will fit thick material sinks, unlike a sister product by the ...

Emergency fix was in stock - good show Lowe's!
Exact fit replacement in my 18-year old Corian sink. The original drain strainer cup pin had corroded away, so the strainer cup just blocked water. This replacement unit fit perfectly and a replacement strainer is available ...:) The double-shell design and stainless steel construction ensures long life without leaks. I removed the old unit, stainless puttied the top cup, slipped it thru the sink hole slightly, while slipping the underneath securing cup and locking nut on. The top flange fi...
Clean Look
I installed this in my stainless steel sink. I used plumbers putty around the lip to help get a good seal. I like having the basket in it to catch food and debris before going down the drain. I like to keep that stuff out of my septic tank. Has a standard kitchen sink drain connection on the bottom. I use glass cleaner to keep it looking clean.

Constant DYI'er around Jackson Tenn
Having replaced many strainers for leaks and cracks, I’ve discovered on certain brands selected and installed - with success, but each provided some difficulty in the application of installation, I felt as a DYI’er. That gold looking nut you see in the picture is a clue as to what you should select for you own preference, its brass and you want that brass nut not that cast gold looking white metal. The ease of the other characteristics and installation makes this a gem… it is all I ever install ...

Good, But Information on the Box Needs Improvement
It's good, but the box has some confusing information. What is a "Plumber's Spec"? The photo shows 2 pieces together as if they are 1 piece, which was concerning. The installation diagram shows gaskets and washers that are not included and there is no disclaimer that they are not included. Also, there is no disclaimer that when you replace your deteriorated "Kitchen Sink Strainer Plumber's Spec" that you will then have to redo the drain pipes.

Quality and great install.
Was able to tighten these down very tight during install. The strainers are very nice.Do not but the ones listed as just for stainless sinks. Could not get them tight enough. A plumber told me not to buy the other ones. They are crap.

Finally! Real Stainless Steel.
Late last year I purchased a sink basket and strainer for our kitchen double stainless steel sink. February my wife complained about our new sink basket starting to rust again. I checked it out and sure enough, the new basket drain was rusting around the strainer. I looked over the replacement sink drains at Lowes and noticed that they say, on the front of the package, "stainless steel finish". I looked around that area and found this one and some others, not hanging on the peg-board hooks, that...

Easy install.
I got a new sink and decided to install the strainer myself. It was fairly easy, purchased plumber's putty too and the bracket for the garbage disposal. Everything went together well and no leaks! Yay!

Great price and simple install.
Great price and easy to install strainer. We use these on our cast iron salon shampoo sinks and they work great. Need to have a strainer with a deep basket and these fit the bill and install is a breeze.

Good for thicker material sinks
Had to replace a $50 Kohler sink strainer that was leaking terribly. Sink was made of porcelain and normal strainer was only secured by one thread turn of locking but. Plumber should have known better to use a deeper strainer basket like this in order to make proper seal. I used one of these for an old enameled steel sink from the 40s. Wish the metal was a little thicker on the strainer dso hence 4 stars. It got the job done.
