What Customers Are Saying
The product offers a mixed performance, with some users finding it easy to operate, powerful, and reliable, while others have experienced mechanical issues like belt problems and oil leaks, even within the first few months. The quality seems inconsistent, with some reporting long-lasting use and others being disappointed. Overall, the product appears to be an adequate entry-level machine, but its long-term durability and reliability are inconsistent.

This is my second John Deere. My first on last 14 years, so at least my last one was well made. My new tractor has a great turning radius. The reason I am writing this review is to give you a heads up on the first oil change. You have to do an oil change to remove the break in oil at 8 hours. The problem is the getting the oil filter off the first time. The space is very tight and and a normal oil filter wrench will not work. I got the below pictured oil wrench as autozone and it got the...
This is a pretty cool First mower
I read quite a few reviews on the Other mowers. We also looked around at other stores and their mowers. In the end we settled on John Deere. We moved to WF about 1 year ago and initially had a yard / pool person. We discussed the expense of both (about $125 a week) and decided to take on all yard and pool work ourselves and use that money for wine, shoes for my wife and ammo for me. We thought about this John Deere E100 for a few weeks and glad we made the purchase. OK we have only had it s...

So far we are not happy, mostly with Lowes
We bought our John Deere E100 from the local Lowes store which is 2 hours from our house. We had to wait 3 weeks for them to deliver the product. The delivery guys brought it, and upon delivery the battery was dead. They asked if we had a charger - we did, so we charged it - we had to charge it for a few hours to get the engine to turn over. Finally got it to work, we mowed one time (after making sure our lawn was clean of debris like sticks, etc) and suddenly the blades stopped turning. The m...
Great Tractor
First I like to say my E100 tractor runs, and cuts grass smoothly without any issue. The key to trouble free ownership and dependability of equipment comes down to following the maintaince schedule along with the owners manual. Using the right fuel with a stabilizer, lubercants and not pushing equipment past the designed use will translate into higher reliability. My last lawn tractor was purchased 23 years ago from a discount big box store I followed the same guidelines as mentioned and it's st...
Well Rounded Machine
I have had the E100 for about two years now and she still runs like brand new. The cut quality is a little above average, the transmission and engine work together flawlessly with a smooth ride. My only complaint is I wish that she would be a little more reliable on the startup in winter because otherwise I have to shovel a long driveway! This is my third Deere in a row, and personally my favorite because of the great flexibility around trees and rock walls and on hills compared to my previous t...
Warranty on John Deere mowers
I have owned 2 John Deere mowers and never had a problem with the first mower. I have owned the new mower for just over a month and now it needs some warranty work for not running smoothly. If you need warranty work then you have to haul the mower to the shop or else they want to charge you for coming to your house to fix it. They want $50 to drive 10 minutes away from the shop. They cover any parts and labor but do not cover the travel pay. If you don't have a way to haul the mower to them then...
john deere e100 17.5 hp 42 inch riding lawn mower
Great mower. its a john deere, so what can I say? lets talk about what I wish it had. one is the turn radius, not so great. I know its not a zero turn mower, but it could be better. two is even tho it has differnt anti scalping wheels i tride it at different levels while on even level grass this works great. but when cutting hills I always have one side dig in to the grass leaving deep unlevel lines in grass. I would like to see the anti scalping wheels to be four instead of two. also the power ...
John Deere E100 Return
Owned a John Deere Sabre for many years until it wore out. Great machine. Purchased a new John Deere E100. Trouble began almost immediately with machine. Belt to the blade drive does not remain taut and Keeps coming off the pulleys when engaged. There is no tension adjustment or way to alleviate problem. Other problems were noted. Machine turns off when brake is applied sometimes. Going in reverse it will backfire once and awhile for no apparent reason. Purchased the Mulching kit for mach...

Poor assembly or factory issue?
This was the second of these ( a replacement for the first mower) that I’ve had in about 3 wks ( do to delivery schedules ) The first one sounded pretty rough, right off the truck and whinin 3 mins had stalled out and then about another 2-3 mins later, the blades disengaged while cutting ( grass was only about 3” high) and wouldn’t re-engage. Called up for this replacement, took a few days before they picked up the first and dropped off this one. Right off the truck ( I had gassed up both with...
