Great Bookcase! Especially to paint/stain!
Solid bookcase. Nice design. Easily to stain--but would have been nice if left unfinished. Just perfect for our space.

Weird Wood, Pieces Badly Milled
Many of the bolt holes are int he wrong spots. The wood is many hues, does not take paint nor stain well. I stained every piece twice, THEN tried assembling... only to discover that 4/8 bolt holes were in the wrong spots (off center by 1/8 to 1/4").

It'll work
Love the mission styling of this bookcase. The ability to finish it myself is appreciated. One of the side slats was bowed inward, which consequently spread the sides awkwardly. Still plenty strong and functional, just a visual distraction.

Are the vertical stiles on the two side of the unit also 3/4 inches thick like the shelves? They look thinner, esp. the two inside stiles. But it could just be the picture. Thanks.
