Hanson makes good quality tools. I bought this kit because it contains some bits of smaller size and also comes with the big ones that I use as doubles for the big die set I have. The kit was on sale so the decision was even easier.

tap and die different thread! cant use together
well I found out when it comes to metric tap and die's there are 2 threads. The die is for say standard metric bolts. but the tap is for cap type bolts. These cap bolts are made with a, i think it was called an oxide coating. They are black compared to silver like regular bolts. So in all I'm saying that the tap and the die are different threads in this package.. they are not the same. The die is m5x.8 and the tap is m5x.80. the tap is what I was needing. so all ended out ok.

Good Taps & Dies, Tools Junk
The set of taps and dies are a quality product at a good price, less that $3 each. But the die and tap wrench tools are a piece of junk. The die wrench is greatly oversize and will not hold the die in use no mater how much you tighten the screw. The tap wrench will not tighten on any of the taps. I had to use a wrench from an old set.

Tap wrench is junk
Taps might work fine but I won't know because the wrench is junky and won't fit the taps straight at all. Just make a decent wrench so I can use it. Will be returning

Price too high
I looked at this set many times, but I couldn't buy it. I only need one piece in the set. Why can't taps and dies be sold separately? Also, the package has lots of information lacking. Such as the pitch for each size die? 3 mm x ?? It would be nice to list the specs. The website specs are even worse, under metric sizes it lists the non-standard SAE units. What the **** is a 6-32 thread? Is that 32 threads per 6 inches? Or a 6 inche bolt with 32 threads. These SAE units are stupid.
