Will not stick to programmed schedule

It will not hold a programmed setting for longer than 8 hours. Set sleep time at 8:30pm with temp at 67. Wake time is 6:30am with temp at 72. At 4:30am the heat is on, warming to 72 and says it is "following schedule". So by 5 am I am laying in bed sweating. Have tried to reprogram it with the same result. Check the programming settings, still set for 67 degrees from 8:30pm to 6:30am. But at 4:30 the screen shows the scheduled temp to be 72. So last night tried setting a temporary hol...

Easy to read and program.

I bought this to replace an almost 20 year old thermostat that was almost impossible to program. This new unit is a dream to program for the whole week an works perfectly on automatic. I will say that I paid for professional installation.

This "new" thermostat had been opened and returned

This 2 star review is not necessarily for Honeywell, (unless they actually sent this returned unit to Lowe's). It's Friday evening before Christmas weekend and our thermostat malfunctioned. Heats all the time, even when off

When the thermostat is off it calls for heat. Heat runs until you unplug the unit from the wiring plate. Not only the heat pump but the aux heat. Tested with a multimeter, there is conductivity between R and O/B, also R and W, even when the unit is off, and EVEN WITH THE BATTERIES REMOVED. On the upside, it's pretty.

It was a very easy installation. You can't go wrong with Honeywell. It is friendlier to use than a smart thermostat. We will not be purchasing another smart thermostat ever again. In less than five years, we have already gone thru two units by different vendors. They units are very finicky and break right shortly after the manufacturer's warranty expires. How convenient.

Temperature not reading correctly

My furnace is gas forced air. My old LUX thermostat died. I set this Honeywell to the same heating temperature of 68F. I noticed the room is hotter than usual. I look at my indoor thermometer and it says 71F but this Honeywell thermostat says 68F. So now i have to set the thermostat to 65F to get my 68F.
