Too expensive!
This rubber grommets are very, very expensive $4.48 each. Even though I had measured the hole that I needed the grommet for, this one was just too big for the hole. I found a box of 200 varied size grommets for $10 elsewhere and found exactly the size I needed. I love shopping at Lowe's, but you got to have the products that I need, at a reasonable price. $4.48 for a $0.20 part is pretty expensive!
No what size your lamp base is

Just what I need to protect electrical wire going to the outside of a metal coffee can.
Preventing a possible short circuit.
I needed to run a few wires through a metal partition and didn't want to have it look like it was done by some jerk and have the wires rub on the bare metal and cause a short. So I ran the wires through this rubber grommet, insulating the wires and preventing any such problem. The grommets only cost a pittance compared to the possibility of a short causing a fire and burning down my home!
