Exactly what I need
I'm about to soundproof the ceiling between the first and second floor, installing 5/8" drywall to resilient channel. These screws (min. 3/4") were recommended to attach the drywall to the resilient channel so they wouldn't pierce the floor joist but I opted for this longer version so the weight of the drywall would be supported without issue. These screws are exactly what I need to get the job done.

Do we need to pre-drill a hole? Is this this right screw for a combination of 1/2" Drywall + 1/2" wood strip + metal stud?
