Cheap knobs

Same problem as everyone else. I have purchased 3 knobs and all cracked the first use. Got a new timer control because the knobs kept slipping. That did not fix the problem. If we continue to have problems will just take the dryer for scrap.

Cheap junk

On my second going into third timer handle. Once those crack and begin to slide in the timer nob they actually wear the plastic (why is it plastic) nob down requiring a replacement of the time assembly. This would be so incredibly easy to fix by providing metal parts.

Do NOT buy this dryer. The dryer itself works fine, but the frustration that comes with it's cheap knobs painted to look metal on the inside it just not worth it. We have gone through so many knobs now in the couple of years that we've had this dryer (having to replace the first one in less than 2 months) that now we have to replace the timer unit because it is stripped out and no new knobs will fit on it. I love GE, but the quality of this dryer just does not live up to their usually great repu...

Horribly Engineered

I am convinced this knob is engineered to fail after use. The part that grips the switch cracks. It is not engineered to hand the torque put on it. I strongly recommend fabricating your own knob, or using a small screw type clamp to turn the switch instead of wasting money on this.
