Faulty

We have gone through 2 of these unit in less than 3 months. The first one didn't last a week. GE refused to refund. Instead issued a voucher after forcing me to buy a second identical unit. They would not cover the taxes on the voucher of the second unit. The unit made a raging noise and wouldn't even turn off. Power surged due to storm, it quit. Now the second unit has just froze up after 2 months of use, made a racket and wouldn't turn off either. Had to unplug it. Tried to call GE, waited 30...

Good unit, except for display

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The window unit works great, but unlike my old GE window unit, the display is almost impossible to read, especially on a sunny day (the top of the unit is vented and sunlight passes through the vents and through the polystyrene air duct and washes out the very dim, white-numbered display. Do Not buy a damaged box!

The boxes that held this AC were all damaged Had to return and purchase another because the AC was damaged after asking customer service to check it Very frustrating

Make sure the plug will fit the outlet.

The air conditioner was easy to install. The controls are easy to operate, I love that the numbers and words a large enough to read and that they do not shine all night. It cools very well
