GE Medium Room Window Air Conditioner , Remote Included ( 115-Volt , 8000-BTU )

Got a whole 6 months out of this unit.

Unit formed a leak and lost all its Freon. Still covered under warranty but the process to get a new one is frustrating. Pay out of pocket and wait another 14 weeks for reimbursement, which I have my doubts it will be that smooth. While the unit was working, it’s worked great super cold and cooled a very large area and satisfying to temp. We will see how the second one performs and how long it last.

I bought 2 of these 1 about month after the 1st one, and the 1st one is still working the second one has started leaking water into my floor, no matter what I do it leaks a lot, and I have had it only a little over a year about 14 months, as much as I paid for this unit I would have thought it lasted longer, up until it started leaking water, this unit has been amazing. I would recommend it but also get the insurance, I feel it will cover cost from buying another.

Very Cool

I purchased this about a month ago to cool a large area and I love it. It is set by temperature so it cuts on and off to ensure the room stays at the set temperature. It’s not silent but it’s also not too loud. I would purchase again.

Only lasted a year

I bought two of these. One lasted 1 year and the other lasted just over 2 years. Both of them had the same failure. At first the temperature would start to get inconsistent. Sometimes it would stay cold all night then sometimes it would go from 65 to 75 degrees on the same setting. Then I noticed the compressor getting louder. The compressor would turn on and run but get louder the longer it ran. Then it would shut off with a loud bang that would rattle the window. It would barely maintain 77 de...

Great overall

Purchased 2 of these GE air-conditioners, this one & 2 weeks before a 14,000 BTU, both of which work very well. Great air coverage, quiet & efficient. Temperature & light panel easy to operate & I'm happy with cooling the area in which they were placed.

Delivery not as promised

I bought this unit. During the summer. I needed next day delivery. Website promised next day delivery but they delivered 2 days later.

Air unit cools great

I'm very pleased with this air conditioner .cools very well . However when I got unit out of box it had a dent on right side and a few coils damaged. I would have returned but my old unit was torn up and dang it's been hot.
