got for the compound design to make it easier to cut .. it is expensive ,, but it does work ,,, if you lopp a lot ,,, but it also heavy if you don't have some arm strength you may want to go different .. .the cutter blade and mechanizes is steel ,, but the handles are not ,,, high carbon made for stronger steel ..
