This shovel has to be the heaviest duty gardening shovel I've ever seen, the forged metal I believe runs from tip to tip, I love the Fiskars brand of products to start with but if the other gardening utensils are built like this,then I would like to see the other products, I'll probably make a stop by Lowes gardening center to check them out. Scoop Size is Perfect for Gardening!

Constructed of metal. The scoop size is perfect for most gardening needs - not too large and not too small. The well is deeper than your average garden shovel, so it shaves time off your project because you don't have to make as many trips into the bag of potting soil or removing dirt from the hole. Wish I had found this shovel years ago!

Awesome little shovel

The big grip hand shovel was great for seasonal planting. The comfort grip handle was soft and provided excellent grip. The shovel is large enough to remove more dirt per scoop and the width makes replanting potted plants into the garden a breeze. The cast aluminum is great for rust resistance as I have been known to leave some gardening tools outside overnight and in the rain. Awesome Steel Coated Hand Scoop

I put this Big Grip Steel Hand Scoop to work as soon as I got it. The handle has a soft rubber grip that feels very good in my hand. My wife is the gardener in the family so this will become one of her favorite tools to plant her flowers and plants. The steel scope has a coating on it that is very durable. Great little digger

This is a well made garden scoop. The shovel is a good solid metal that won't bend under a little stress. The grip is a nice big and comfortable grip with a good non slip cover. If your hand sweats or gets wet it won't slip. It works well in garden rock or soil. Even with roots the blade is able to get down in the dirt fairly easy. Once your done the handle has a hole in the back for hanging it out of the way. This is one I'm looking forward in using for quite a while. Well made.

Really Solid Tool

This is a cross between a hand scoop and a trowel. It's well made, very strong and solid, and sits very comfortably in the hand. Fiskars makes high quality things, so I'm confident it will last. It's not sharp enough to dig into soil that isn't loose, and it's large -- I guess why that's why they call it a scoop instead of a trowel. It's almost like a hand shovel. My New Favorite Garden Tool

This scoop is wonderfully large, perfect for planting out flowers/ veg in the garden! I was able to plant out some 1qt flowers in just one scoop! Holes for larger flowers can be dug in a fraction of the time as I would with my regular hand spade. Honestly, this will be my go to garden tool when planting in my garden, I can’t wait to use it next spring! I also think this would make a great gift for a gardener. Because it’s so substantial, it would stand out in a gift basket.

Great dirt mover

I really like the Fiskars Big Grip hand scoop. The handle and scoop are cast in one piece so it will be very sturdy and long lasting. The scoop is thick so I can break up hard soil easily. The handle is ergonomic and cushioned for comfortable digging and fatter than competitors. The first project I used it for was to fill in a large hole an animal had dug under the fence. Made the job very easy, moved lots of dirt with each scoop. Also has a lifetime warranty.
