The 1 star review is specifically for Lowe's poor customer service. It is not about the actual smoke alarm. The box had obviously been opened before. Batteries were loose, Cap for smoke alarm was not on unit. Lowes should not be selling items advertised as new when they are clearly used.
Replaced nuisance detectors.
These smoke detectors were easy to install and set up. The plates that came with them are compatible with many different screw configurations so you won’t have to re-drill. The room setup was easy and I take some comfort in knowing if the alarms go off I’ll be alerted to where the issue is.
