Update: 7yrs after install
Purchased in 2017, they are now reaching end of life. Ordering the exact same battery operated ZWave combo units for the next 7 -10yrs. These integrate flawlessly with the Ring.

Ate an 8 pack of batteries in one week. Returned, but no compensation for the batteries!!

I have 6 of these combo detectors and we picked this one because it syncs with our ring alarm. You have to pull these down monthly and spray compressed air to clean or they will go off randomly. even with cleaning once a month they randomly go off in the middle of the night. The company knows about this and sent out a replacement for one that was constantly false alerting. Awesome until they go off in the middle of the night. You have to clean them once a month, or they go off randomly, and it's never during the day they false alert. we got these as they link up to ring alarm system. I smashed one of them as it went off several nights in a row while we were sleeping. In my 50 years I have never had to blow out a detector once a month!
