This alarm features\Ntwo latching features. Alarm latch: easily identifies initiating alarm even after\Nalarm condition has subsided. Battery end of life latch: identifies which unit is\Nin low battery condition by blinking the green power light. Alarm also includes a\Nsingle test/silence button to test alarm operating and silence nuisance alarms. Other features include an 85dB horn and single\Nbutton test/silence feature. Connection to AC power is made with a quick-connect\wiring harness (included).

Good for Rentals
Able to wire and have a 10 year backup NON removeable battery. comes with 3 wire adapters so u don't need to spice any wiring. side note, if it is going off in the middle of the night, then disconnect it and shake the multi roaches out of it. apply dusking and bait to it

Battery strips stuck
I purchased 28 of these. I had great difficulty removing the battery activation strip in eight of them. The strip was so embedded that pulling hard actually pulled open the "sealed" battery drawer. I then had to remove the battery to remove the strip (or fragments thereof), reinstall the battery, and carefully and forcefully push the battery drawer closed again while the 'sealing' pin was still in place (could not be removed). Changing out existing First Alert Smoke detectors
First Alert used their heads, and kept the electrical wiring plug connection the same as the original detectors purchased when I built the house 2004. It took literally a minute to remove the existing detector, plug the new one in, and twist it into the existing locking ring. I did have two detectors I had to replace the locking ring on, (too small for the new detectors) but that was as simple as loosing up the screws securing the locking ring to the electrical box by about 1/4"-3/8" then turn...
