Does what it was designed to do.
I bought this smart outlet for controlling my exterior Christmas lights and it works flawlessly with no problems. Since I used it outside I like that one plug is always on and the other is on a switch. Perfect for exterior of home; Linked with BrightLayer app and no problems linking to Alexa. A+

The app is horrible! The schedule to automatically turn off/on doesn’t work consistently

it is only ONE "smart" outlet
waste of money, only ONE of the two outlets is a smart outlet. It does not state this anywhere on the box. What a rip off. Cheaper to go with the smart plugs as they're two in a box. Product works fine besides that, app works well too.

One of the worst smart plugs ive used
I have a fairly tech heavy home. Devices ranging from Bluetooth to wifi. This outlet has given me the MOST issues I've ever had. Constantly drops connection, wont factory reset, wont even reconnect after following the straightforward instructions. I recommend getting a different brand.
Flawless Performance
I have several of these around my home for Smart Home performance with Alexa. They all work flawlessly. I have both the first generation and the current 2nd generation and all are seamless. With this generation, you add it to your Eaton app on your phone and follow the steps to add it to Alexa. If you already have one of the Eaton devices on their app and Alexa, when you add a new one, Alexa will automatically pick it up. It doesn't get much simpler. Not built to work with other apps
So, you want yet another app on your phone to control that random smart plug? Then, by all means, buy this Eaton socket. Yep. you have to use their app to control their switch. Who cares if you have multiple smart plugs from other manufacturers, certainly not the fine folks at Eaton. Can someone please tell me the rationale for always having stuff that is proprietary and non-compatible?
