8150 vs old Micro

Initial impressions of the 8150 vs my 8 year old Dremel Micro (will try to update after more use). Primary use: my dog's nails. Pros: improvement in the light (brighter, more towards white with blue hint vs older with slight yellow cast), can set speed before turning on (micro started at mid point then you adjusted), finer control of speed (micro was in steps). Neutral for now: motor noise isn't that much quieter (maybe a little, definitely higher pitched). Cons: bigger around even at high up gr...

Battery last a long time!

I wanted to sharpen the saw blade on the saw mill out in the back of the property. No electric outlet so I bought the battery operated Dremel. First I tried a 3/16" diamond grinding bit. It was to small. I went to a 5/16" bit and it worked perfectly. Plenty of juice to sharpen the blade several times in one charge. Blade cuts very good for the amount of use I've gotten out of it. This Dremel will save me a lot of money on new blades.

Dog nail grinding.

Would Recommend

I bought this to grind my dogs toenails. I have had many other dremels in the past and this one so far was a good upgrade. I bought carbide 60 grit to go with it for the dogs use. It has various speeds, and the top speed might be a bit much with the 60 bit for some dogs.

Easy to use and has a bright light

Good update to the 8050. Direct usb charge makes it easy to charge. The light is bright and while it’s heavier than my 8050 it feels comfortable in my hand.
