Worth the Cost

I wasn't sure if there was a difference with this water softener salt and the less expensive salt. But after using both for a year, I can tell that this salt softens the water but not as intensely as the less expensive salt. When using the less expensive salt, my dishwasher and washing machine bubble too much. Also, my hair is flat with the less expensive salt.

2 of 5 BAGS: Ripped Open

I don't mind accepting less than perfect or damaged bags, I mean it is KCI after all. However, because we have to move them from the drop off point to the storage area, the bags that were ripped open left a trail of materials that slipped out of the tears in the bags. A pain in the neck to clean that up. LET US KNOW if we will be receiving damaging product so that we can best plan for that. We assumed the bags were intact !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a bit pricy but worth it

Potassium chloride works well in water softeners, and my wife and I prefer the taste of our water over what it would be if we were using the less expensive sodium chloride. Also, sodium chloride is reputedly corrosive to septic tanks, while potassium chloride is less so. Lowes has been a reliable source of potassium chloride for water softeners, and their brand is clean -- no visible contamination in any of the bags we have purchased.

Packaging had a hole in it, appeared minor but 20% unusable- large, hard clumps

No salt bridges

I have used this product for over 20 years. I have never had a salt bridge. It is getting more and more expensive. I assume that is the tariff causing that.
