Very happy with this saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I couldn't be happier! I did a lot of research before buying this saw. Right out of the box every setting was accurate, the fence measurant from the blade, and blade at 90 degrees were perfect. The set up was easy.

Dependable Saw
I had a DeWalt DW744 saw for five years. The saw developed a vibration I could not solve. Finally took it to DeWalt Service Center in Fort Worth, Texas. They gave me a new saw!!! Said DeWalt was not happy with the performance of the DW744 and saws with this problem were just replaced by DeWalt. They gave me a DWE7490X. I liked the miter gage on my 744 better. It fits the 7490 just fine. The one big thing I wish was different is the start up. You push the start button and it starts at full RPM. I...

Good features, but miter gauge is bad
The features on this saw are good - the rolling guide, large top, board extensions, and controls. However, the miter gauge is very poor and is several degrees off a true right angle when set to 90. The gauge is also flimsy, made of plastic, and wobbles in the slot. Except for that gauge, it's great saw. Buy a after market miter gauge.

Powerful and easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this saw to do onsite cuts of both plywood and solid lumber. I have been so impressed with all the features and options as well as the ease of use. It comes with everything you need to start working and it all stores somewhere on the saw for easy transport. The power of this saw is incredible! For such a small tool, ripping solid lumber is a breeze and the fence allows me to cut full size sheets of plywood without much trouble too! Ov...

Do NOT Buy
This Dewalt table saw is junk. I bought this saw a few weeks ago. I spent 2.5 hours setting this thing up only to find that the blade would not adjust enough to allow the use of the throat plate. That's right! You could not align the blade. There was not enough adjustment in the slots. What made this extremely dangerous is someone who is not experienced with table saws who just wanted to quickly use the saw could have plugged it in, turned the saw on and raised the blade to find themselves ...

Exceptional Value
I learned how to run a table saw under my father's guidance when I was a teenager. He rebuilt a Rockwell cabinetry table saw. It was a beautiful piece of equipment that really blurred the line between wood working and machining. His saw cost thousands of dollars. The DeWalt 7490X is capable of very similar results, at a fraction of the price. Obviously, this saw doesn't offer many of the same features as those much more expensive cabinetry saws. But it is capable of the same accuracy and repeata...
One of the two Dewalt products I recommend.
Have used the older versions and updated to the newer versions over the last 16 years. The cabinet company I worked for supplied the saws and being in the custom home division we handed our tools down to the production crews. I actually have a Bosch tablesaw that I use as well. Even though they are both rated at 15amps the bosch has more power. But the Dewalt is faster to dial adjust the fence . The handy push stick stores on the right side of the fence for easy access.

Misleading description. Not a transportable saw!
This is a good saw, and the saw has many clever features as described by other reviewers. One missing feature however, is a pull out, out-feed support as sold on many other saws, you will need 2 people to manage cutting long stock, too bad. My problem is the stand. In the description it states, "fold up stand", twice it mentions that fact. This is misleading, from the pics and description, you'd imagine the stand folds into the saw nice and neat and away you go. True the stand does fold, if you ...
DeWalt Portable Table saw
I am a DIY homeowner and I dabble in woodworking, mostly small furniture pieces and Adirondack chairs for family. My old $90 bench top table saw was just too difficult to keep a 90 degree cut and the fence was impossible to set correctly. The DeWalt on the other hand is precise right out of the box. I spent about an hour setting it up and assembling the stand. I check all the angles and 90 degree setting all were spot on. The fence is a dream very accurate and the option for 2 max cutting widths...
