My 12" Delta is quite a few years old - runs true with no vibration. Couldn't be happier. Only issue - had to replace the switch - can't hold that against the machine - happens.
Unusable. Over 1/4" runout!
I love Delta, especially the older equipment, but this disk had over 1/4" runout which makes it completely unusable. I don't know if it was previously returned, but the product I received is garbage. You can find more negative reviews on this product than positive. Why sell this, if you're just going to get all these returns? Why waste the shipping?!
Would recommend only for rough work.
Excellent motor and generally a good design. The disc brake and dust collection hose are handy features. However, on the machine I received, neither the table nor the rotating disc (onto which the sanding disc is attached) were perfectly flat (planar), so this is not a good machine for precision work. The disc had an area about 1mm higher than the rest of the disc, and the table had a low area about 1mm lower than the rest of the surface. I expected faults based on other reviews, so I was ex...

Delta's failing quality
About a year ago I bought the Delta 12"sander and used it once a month. The first day I tried adjusting the table, both of the table locking handle broke as they were made of cheap cast. A month ago the off/on switch stop turning off the machine. I've called Delta for replacement parts twice; once I was on hold for 36 minutes, the other 24 minutes. All of that being said about the bad customer service, the sander really is a work horse (but not a safe one if you cannot turn if off. ab
