Reasonably good tools
After receiving these, I opened them and gave them a thorough inspection. The craftsmanship is relatively good, though the joints and connection points are not the strongest I’ve seen. While I’m not performing tasks very often that require these, I did complete the installation of a new shower water diverter in my spare bathroom. Having two different sizes was helpful as I was working in a small hole I cut in the wall behind the shower head. The grip on the pipe was strong and didn’t slip. I ...
Must have pliers
This is great set of locking pliers. They can be used as wire cutter and have allen key turn knob so you can tighten knob as tight as possible. Release handles are red silicone so theres less chance to cut yourself when trying to release grip. Locking jaws are strong and have great grip, teeth are sharp so you can grab just sbout anything with these. Once jaws are locked they wont slip.
Top drawer pliers in my toolbox!
These cresent locking pliers were true lifesavers to have in my toolchest. I work on and restore alot of old tractors and trucks and have used both pairs of these pliers numerous times to free up rounded and rusted hardware. Good aggressive grip on the teeth makes good contact to keep the jaws in contact and will not slip off. And the best feature is the release handle that makes kickback near impossible. Definitely gonna stock up and get a few more pairs!!
Cant get much better than these
These Crescent locking pliers set is the real deal. The build and quality are top notch. They are far better than any of the locking pliers I have in my toolbox. The adjustment knob and release lever are oversized which make it easy to release the pliers and really torque down when trying to lock them. Great quality product and I am sure it will last a lifetime.
The rubber coating is a nice touch.
These locking pliers and wire cutters work as well as any I've ever used in the past. Where they are a step above the crowd is in the finer details. The jaws are precision machined to be flat on the sides and the teeth are sharp enough to have plenty of bite. Also, the rubberized coating on the release lever is a really nice addition as not only does it provide a firm grip, but also prevents pinching as it causes a slight gap between the lever and bottom handle when actuated. These do come s...
Solid build, grips tight
Opens/closes & adjusts more smoothly than cheaper versions. Hardened jaws grip tightly without deforming. As test (not intended use), twisted off a 3.5" spiral shank nail embedded 2.5" into pressure-treated 2x6". Weaker pliers cannot do it.
Durable Locking Pliers
Locking pliers aren't something I use everyday, but they definitely come in handy and should be in every toolbox. The Crescent locking locking pliers seem to be durable and are easy to use. The adjusting screw can be tightened with a 6mm hex key (if by hand isn't enough). The wire cutter is nice I guess, but seems unnecessary (I have other tools to do this). Having two sizes is great for different jobs (or when you inevitably misplace one).
Great locking pliers
The two pack Crescent Locking Pliers are a great tool to have around the house. The two sizes are great for smaller or larger projects around the house. Usually by the time I am grabbing the locking pliers to loosen a bolt, the head is stripped which is why a tight grip to lessen further damaged is needed. These locking pliers are great in a pinch. The fact that you can hand tighten the adjustment screw clamp it and then use a hex key in the end to further tighten them, is a feature I have never...
Crescent does the job!!
Got these to replace an old worn out piece I had for many years…These have a couple nice features that make them more useable than the old ones…first the wire cutting feature, although it is better for heavier gauge wire, works well. Second is the hex head at the end of the tightening screw, this makes it possible to get an even tighter lock down on something and you can back it off if it is too tight and hard to remove! The rubber cover over the release handle helps as well. I expect nothing l...
Very strong grips
I really like the grip these have. They hold very strong with the teeth, and the two different sizes allow flexibility in uses. They hold very strong on tough bolts that are stripped, or taking off nuts that are too tight. They have the typical steel feel to them. The release is smooth, and the adjustment screw is tight, so it holds the adjustment very well.
